Matthias Kuyper, Pfyn in Thurgau. Deep house, minimal and warm, dubby grooves. The groove comes first, the big drop does not interest him.
It started more than twenty years ago in Zurich: an Electribe, Propellerhead Reason, a hardware setup he used to play his own material live, mostly in the smaller Zurich underground. Ableton came later, then music stepped into the background for a long time.
2026 was the restart, this time as producer and DJ at once. In the studio he thinks about how a track works in a set, behind the decks he picks up the ideas for the next one. His tracks develop in small movements: rhythmic shifts, changing textures, details that appear and disappear again. A flow that keeps moving without breaking the pull.
He builds his sets over the long run, from organic and atmospheric to pressured deep groove and minimal. He has played Bistro Gwundervoll and the Stadtkaserne Frauenfeld. For the Bude he is working on Murmur and Rosemary, his first two tracks under his own name.
